3-5 Day ‘Train the Trainer’ Course

This Safer People Handling course lasts for between 3 and 5 days depending upon the occupational backgrounds and people handling experience of the delegates.
The course is run by registered healthcare professionals who are UK leading experts in the management and application of safer people handling strategies.
Course Outline
The course covers the following:
- Teaching practice; how to plan, prepare, run and evaluate courses
- Theoretical issues related to safer people handling; legislation, policy development, promoting musculoskeletal health and wellbeing, assessing risks, safer handling principles, ergonomics and unsafe practices.
- Practical safer people handling skills; such as sit to stand techniques, bed transfers, management of the falling and fallen person, chair transfers and repositioning techniques. An extensive range of moving and handling equipment is available for delegates to use, including overhead hoists.
A practical guide, complete with power point presentation, is included to enable successful delegates to get started as soon as they have completed the course.
Delegates are evaluated throughout the duration of the course and upon completion of a written exam and a practical presentation.
Certification last for 3 years.
