1 Day Complex Care Handling Strategies

£65 per person + VAT

This is a fully interactive practical course for experienced care staff looking at a variety of moving and handling techniques which could be used when working with patients/service users with complex care needs.

Delegates will have a range of complex handling scenarios to work through, or they may bring their own case studies, and will be required to take an active part in role play and problem solving activities to successfully address the moving and handling issues identified.

Course Outline

  • An introduction to complex handling – what makes a situation ‘complex’?
  • Adopting an ergonomic approach to addressing the problems – people, systems and environments
  • ‘Playing’ with equipment – evaluating the pros and cons of various items of moving and handling equipment
  • Practical problem solving scenarios.

 Certification last for 1 year.

Please note: This course is not suitable for new or inexperienced care staff as a sound understanding of safe handling principles and practices is required.
