This one day Health and Safety for Care course ensures staff understand their health and safety responsibilities and how important it is for them to develop a safety conscious environment which involves everyone. Run by a qualified nurse with a background in occupational health and safety, participants can be sure they will learn everything they need to know to keep them and their service users safe. Active participation and questions are encouraged to make this Health and Safety for Care course fun and appropriate to everyone’s needs.

Throughout the day the Health and Safety for Care course covers:
Roles and responsibilities
Policies and procedures and current legal health and safety requirements
Kitchen safety
Gas, water and electrical safety
Lone working
Slips, trips and falls
Fire safety
Personal hygiene and cross infection
Dealing with clinical and non clinical waste
Property maintenance and repairs e.g. worn carpets, broken locks etc
Working in the laundry
Assessing risks.

The Health and Safety for Care course suitable for domiciliary, residential, nursing or day care staff and may be run either in-house or at any suitable training venue.

Course content may be adapted to suit exact requirements of any individual care service.

A half day Health and Safety course is also available as a refresher. £30pp + vat
