1 Day Home Nursing Skills Course

Caring for someone who is bed-bound can be challenging and can cause pain and discomfort for the carer and a lack of dignity for the person in receipt of care if procedures are not planned and carried out correctly.

Course Outline

This is a highly practical course where delegates will have the opportunity to consider the various tasks associated with personal care, such as:

  • Bathing and washing
  • Oral care
  • Eye care
  • Hair hygiene
  • Skin care and pressure area management
  • Eating and drinking
  • Elimination
  • Nail care
  • Giving medication
  • Positioning in the bed and chair

Delegates will be required to take part in role play, washing, feeding and caring for someone in bed (great fun, very enlightening and educational).
